Canada added 8,800 jobs in May. With over 35,000 new entrants to the labour force, the overall unemployment rate rose by a tenth of a percentage point to 7%.
Within professional, scientific and technical services, total employment rose by 9,900 in May to 2,011,800, an increase of 0.5%.
